School-Based Traineeships

School-based New Apprenticeships allow School students to study for their Senior Certificate and at the same time commence and/or complete a nationally recognised vocational training qualification - as paid employees. A School-Based traineeship will involve a student attending school, undertaking part-time work in a workplace and undertaking a course of study that will enable them to attain the Queensland Certificate of Education as well as complete a Nationally Recognised Qualification.  These traineehships attract Commonwealth Government incentives as well as State Government funding.  The employer is not obliged to pay the School based trainee for the time withdrawn from productive work for training purposes.
