

Hairdressing is an exciting diverse industry offering a wide range of opportunities for those looking fir a career in the industry. Graduates from MIG Training have a range of options which include: working in and or owning salons, operating as technical advisors for product companies, travelling and using their skills internationally, working in fashion or entertainment as well as becoming industry recognized hairdressing trainers.
Traineeships / School Based
Eligible MIG students can undertake their training as State Government funded trainee. This option also extends to those looking to begin a career in hairdressing while still at school. Students need to be employed and contracted as a full time, part time or school based trainee. The delivery options are flexible and may include a combination of workplace, school visits and attendance at MIG.
Apprenticeship
Similar to the traineeship an apprenticeship requires employment and can be achieved full-time, part-time or school based. Completion of an apprenticeship will lead to Certificate III in Hairdressing.

Refresher Courses
MIG offers short courses in Hairdressing that can be tailored to the individual hairdresser’s requirements. If you are looking at training in specific skills or need to build your confidence before returning to the workforce a individual plan can be created.
